Rain, Rain, Come Today!

I finally got my rain barrel installed. It took me a while to get the concrete pad poured and to wait for that to set up and harden. All during that time, it rained and rained and rained. Frankly, it's rained steadily since April. So, of course, now that my rain barrel is installed, I can guarantee you we will not see rain again until December.

Anyhow, the barrel looks really nice. I'm curious how quickly it will fill the fifty gallon tank. I'm told that it doesn't take much of a rain to fill these babies.

The barrel is tucked in behind the laurels and junipers, so it is totally invisible from the street. It's also conveniently at the highest corner of the house, so I can water most any part of the yard with it. And, it's right next to the vegetable garden, so that serves me well too.
