Palm Springs -- Day Two

After our trip to San Diego, we took a day of rest at Palm Springs to enjoy the resort and the swimming pools. The weather was SO hot! The temperatures were between 105 and 110 degrees Fahrenheit. We even tried the old trick of frying an egg on the sidewalk, but all this yielded was a gooey mess.

But the pools gave welcome relief from the endless heat. Even Becky got into the water some. The boys worked on their swimming skills and had fun fooling around with Nana and Grandpa.

Later, for supper, we drove into downtown Palm Desert and ate at Ichiban and had the most wonderful sushi and terryaki. Then, after supper, we did some miniature golf. As we were ending our day, a very gregarious Luke tried to beat his brother back to the van, and slipped and fell on some broken safety glass in the parking lot. He embedded a piece of it into his knee, and screamed and cried all the way home. Once we got back to the resort (after the longest car ride ever!), Nana performed her nursing skills and removed the piece of glass.

After the shock of this, Luke (and all the rest of us) passed out from exhaustion and went to bed.
