Dear Sailor
Eddie's teacher has a son, Mason, who's in the Navy and stationed over in the Persian Gulf. The kids recently made care packages and wrote letters to sailors on his ship. I really enjoyed reading Eddie's letter, and thought I'd share it here.
Whether you agree with this war or not, I think most people have a respect for the kids (yes, they are just kids) who are over there, many of them with little choice, on thrice-extended tours. Occasionally, a kind word from a kid back home is probably very welcomed:
Dear Sailor,
I appreciate what you are doing. Maybe you can write back so I can keep writing to you. Are you happy with your job? My teacher Mrs. Key is Mason's mom. Do you know Mason? What country are you near by right now?
Sincerely,
Eddie
PS - What pet can tell you what time it is? A watch dog!
