Update on the Boys

As you know, we've been pretty swamped. So I haven't posted here as much as I would like, or as much as I used to.

The boys, however, have not been neglected. Eddie continues to work on his music. In fact, he was asked to sing a solo at his Middle School by his music teacher, Mr. Beber. Mr. Beber will play the piano, and Eddie will sing the Arlen Clarke version of Amazing Grace. As Mr. Beber started playing the sheet music the first time, he remarked to Eddie that he was pleasantly surprised. He thought the song would be the standard Amazing Grace, but it wasn't! The Arlen Clarke version is so pretty.

Here is an old video from April 2008 with the tune:

Eddie is also playing a piano solo at church coming up. Mrs. V signed him up for Youth Sunday, which means he gets to sing and be an altar boy (as usual), but also play during the anthem. It will be quite an honor for him!

As for Luke, he is still enjoying the guitar, and doing quite nicely with it also. Luke is finishing out bowling season, and will receive the Most Improved award in his league. (Out of about 100 kids) He now consistently bowls around 100 per game. That's better than me!

As bowling season slides away, we move into soccer season. Despite how busy I am with the distillery, I've made the time to help coach his team. I love to see Luke play soccer--he's such an athletic kid--but also enjoy the coaching for myself. Our team is the same core of boys we've had for a few years now, and they're really good and playing well together. Plus, Coach Max from Columbia is amazing. What a pro! Look for some pictures and videos from Luke's first game this weekend.
