Bears Den Camp-out

The boys and I camped up at Bear's Den again this year with the Cub Scouts. We even took our new portable flagpole and performed a small outdoor flag ceremony. We hiked the Appalachian Trail to the rocky outcropping overlooking the Shenandoah Valley. We had the most wonderful hobo dinners (hamburger, carrots, potatoes, onions, broccoli and spices, all cooked in foil). Becky even came up to join us for dinner. Then, after dinner, we sang songs and told jokes around the campfire til bedtime.

The next morning, the boys and I had to break camp early, before 7am, because I had to teach Sunday school at 9am. It wasn't a very long trip, but we had a great time.
