A Day in DC

We took some time off from work and went down to DC today for some touring. After an infuriating 45 minutes trying to find some parking, we finally reached the National Mall. We started with the old Smithsonian Castle and then headed over to the American History Museum--one which we've never seen before. The highlights were seeing Judy Garland's ruby slippers and seeing the Smithsonian volunteer--a nice retired lawyer--explain to us how the cotton gin was invented.

The lunch boxes below were a nice surprise. I had that Space 1999 lunch box when I was a kid, and I'm pretty sure Mike had the Star Wars one.

Eddie really wanted to see the ruby slippers.

I liked this saying on the wall. It resonates with me.

George's amazing biceps, pecs and abs also resonate deeply with me.
