C.F. Martin Guitar Factory and the Crayola "Faketory"

Today we toured the very cool C.F. Martin Guitar factory in Nazareth. This factory is the real working factory where the guitars are still made. Lots of famous people, from Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley to Paul McCartney and Jimmy Buffet, have all played Martin guitars.

The tour was free and lasted well over an hour. At the end of the tour, they let you play from ten or so they had hanging from the lobby wall. Luke strummed out some Green Day while this really talented fellow from Alabama riffed along with him. It was really cool to listen to the two of them play.

Then after the Martin factory, we headed to Easton to the Crayola factory tour--which isn't much of a factory tour at all. It is really an interactive Crayola museum for kids aged two to five. The boys were really not interested in all the little-kiddie activities, so we raced through it until we got to the top floor, where they had a cool interactive Canal Museum. The boys got to play with boats and move them through a scale canal, including operating locks and cargo loading.

After the tours, we headed back to the resort, where we all enjoyed a nice game of bowling.
