A Very Fine Dram

What better way to celebrate my dad's birthday than to buy myself a fine bottle of whisky? All the better to raise a toast with.

I finally took George's advice and picked up a bottle of 16 year Lagavulin. It only set me back eighty dollars, which I think must be a pretty fair price. (About 40 quid equivalent. I'll ask my Brit friends out there, is that reasonable?)

Heaven in a bottle. This stuff is excellent! The label describes it best,

Pungent and potent, this is the great Islay malt. With richly peaty, deep, smoky flavours, it has an intense, long, ambrosial finish.

More subtle in phenol than the Ardbeg, and smooth like a 16 year whisky should be, this is one very fine dram!
